Summer Play Together

Jewish Community Project (JCP) Downtown

Kidz Tips
  • Music and movement in every class
  • Time for toddlers and grownups together
  • Led by experienced musician

In this special group time for toddlers and their grownups, children will gain self-confidence as they play alongside each other in a classroom environment with JCP Staff and their adults nearby. Class routine includes free play, snack, circle time, story time and gross motor play, allowing for practice in smooth transitions and opportunities for exploration of materials. Summer Play Together is taught by children’s musician and JCPlay teacher Suzi Shelton. Using her ukelele, Suzi incorporates music and movement into each class.

JCP’s mission is to build a new model of Jewish belonging in Downtown Manhattan (Tribeca, Battery Park City, SoHo, the West Village, and the Financial District). JCP cultivates a community in which members develop a strong sense of personal ownership and connection to Jewish identity. We engage families of diverse Jewish and interfaith backgrounds with meaningful educational, spiritual and cultural programs that invite people to explore their Jewish heritage and sense of Jewish community.

Throughout the year, we offer a variety of touch points for Jewish life: Shabbat and holiday celebrations; education through our Early Childhood Center, Hebrew School, B’nai Mitzvah, and adult engagement programs; and warm community gatherings.
