At Midtown Movement and Dance Company, our mission is to cultivate a passion for dance in the hearts and minds of young movers through music, creative movement, and the foundation of ballet technique; all in an explorative environment.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Jacelyn Lisette has been teaching dance classes since 2011. Prior to her college career, Jacelyn trained in Ballet and Modern dance at Young Dancers in Repertory's Center for Dance Studies where she also performed with the Youth Touring Ensemble.

Jacelyn holds a BFA in Theater Arts with a minor in Dance from Adelphi University. While completing her degree, Jacelyn worked with the internationally known Galli Theater Company in Manhattan. She was a repertory actor playing title roles in children's fairy tales such as The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Pea, and Little Red Riding Hood. She has also worked Off-Broadway and in TV and Film. Currently, she continues to train at Broadway Dance Center and STEPS on Broadway in styles such as Ballet and Jazz, and conditioning techniques  including Pilates and Floor Barre. She is a repertory member of Teatro SEA (a bilingual theater company in NYC) and has worked as a Guest Teaching Artist in public, private, and charter schools for the past five years. These experiences have instilled in her a love of teaching children as well as a passion for bringing imagination, movement, creativity, and mind-body awareness to young, developing minds.

Jacelyn, known in class as Miss Jackie, has worked steadily under the direction of Marija Tilmann (owner and Lead Instructor of City Moves Dance Studio since 2014). With Miss Marija's family decision to move to Michigan, and Miss Marija's guidance and blessing, Miss Jackie has chosen to continue working with the students and families of City Moves Dance Studio by starting her own company, Midtown Movement and Dance. She hopes to continue delivering quality ballet programming while also introducing a wide array of new movement classes to the schedule.
