Election Day Adventures in Coding Camp

Launch Math + Science Centers

Kidz Tips
  • Grades K-5
  • Explore 4 coding languages
  • Refine math and coding skills

Get ready for a day of excitement as campers explore up to four different coding languages! Launch’s youngest coders start off with MIT’s Scratch Jr. for an exciting introduction into the world of programming. Campers ready for a bigger challenge can use MIT’s Scratch 2.0 language to create their own unique games and animations while learning logic and mathematical concepts such as Cartesian (x,y) coordinates, variables, and iterative processes.

Already proficient in Scratch? Come explore the coding of phone apps using MIT’s App Inventor programming tool; software that introduces kids to graphical user interface design (GUI), placement of buttons and text, and strategic use of multiple screens. Our more advanced coders can learn the text-based programming language known as Python and tackle techniques such as lists, if statements and loops while refining their problem solving and logical reasoning skills.

No previous coding experience is required.
