Starting preschool next September?

Spend this year practicing!
Wee Ones understands that separation is an important process for both children and adults. Preschool Practice is designed to allow adults to be a part of the process by being in the classroom as well as working towards separation. Philosophy, rational and goals are shared with adults so that we may work together to meet each child where they are.
Curriculum includes social play, circle time, music, instruments, dancing, movement, story & reading time, snack, open-ended art, experience obstacle course, brain & muscle building, colors, shapes, numbers & letters, parachute & bubbles.

Our NYS Certified Teachers continue to support emerging language skills, social/emotional, fine and gross motor skills and cognitive development. We now see personalities and learning styles becoming well formed and strive to diversify the ways in which we offer curriculum and activities to suite the individual child.  Our unique child-initiated-separation program lets adults and children stay together until the child is ready to try parts of the class independently. Eventually, students feel confidant enough to be completely separated. The transition into drop-off programs in September is stress-free for students and parents. Experienced teachers and controlled class size make this fun time in children’s development safe and productive for all.

Preschool Practice

This class is perfect for preparing younger children to enter preschool. Miss Kara is an amazing teacher and every class is fun experience full of learning opportunities. My daughter always looks forward to class and it has given her great exposure to separation and becoming more independent.

Wee Ones Pre-school practice is a great way to introduce toddlers to preschool. My daughter loved her "school" days and being with her friends. She is moving on the the 3's class this year and can't wait for school to start.

First the positives: Great, clean space (though small), absolutely wonderful teachers - we went on a trial pass and it was a great experience. If I had a baby in the 4-6 month range, I think this would be a great class. Cons: ...I don't have a 6 month old. I have a - quite active - nine month old. And, for him, the class was a bit slow. During the "tumbling" time, for instance, one baby at a time participated while the others sat and watched - it went by very slowly for those who weren't currently participating. Perhaps a song could be sung simultaneously or something to keep the other children engaged. If you are looking to teach baby sign language to your baby, this is an excellent class to attend. All in all, I would recommend it to someone with a younger baby, who I think would benefit from it more than an active, older baby. 4-14 months is a very large span, anyway, and the skillsets of babies in this range are quite different.

This is such a wonderful class! We started attending when Sam was four months old. It was so much for both of us, and I learned some great techniques and activities for us to do at home as well. It's also a nice place to meet other moms in the neighborhood.

This place is great for the little ones/toddlers. There is so much to do, play and learn. The teachers are amazingly talented and engaging with the children, and were able to hold Maximo's attention span - even with the ball pit looming in the background!

My son had a great time in this class! The teachers were very knowledgeable and felt comfortable improvising to suit the needs of the class. The adults learn some easy sign language to use with their babies before they learn to talk. The space is simple which helps the children to focus on the main activities.

My daughter did this class and she loved it. Miss Cara helps the children learn how to appropriate interact socially, how to politely ask for things, and teaches them sign language and the alphabet. There are also many fun toys for the children to play with. Wee Ones was a great part of my child's early years.

The Wee Ones Club opened in May of 2004, offering a new concept in early childhood classes. There are a limited amount of spaces in Manhattan that not only offers mommy and me classes and preschool twos, threes and fours at the same school! Members also strengthen ties with our neighbors and community by attending free evening events and parties as well as weekly day-time activities for our students. The Wee Ones Club is a safe, licensed center and preschool created especially for the socialization, education and development of children. Controlled class sizes ensure personalized attention for enrolled children. It is our mission to become a valuable resource for families raising children in Manhattan, and allow each family to choose however many classes their young children need from week to week.
